If you happened to be visiting an aeSolutions office last week, you might have noticed something a little…funny. Gone were the business-casual polos and dress shirts most of our staff wear during the week; instead, many employees were sporting funny t-shirts and jeans, vying for the honor of “funniest t-shirt in the company.”
Was this a sudden shift in policy? Or had everyone just decided it was too hot out there? No! Instead, aeSolutions staff had paid $5 in one of our many fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night campaign.
Over the past three years, aeSolutions has joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in raising money to support the research of blood cancer treatments that save lives. To date, the company has helped raise over $70,000, and we’re on track to add to that total through a variety of events across all our offices.
With team captains in each office, we’ve been able to come up with a number of fun and exciting events: The $5 funny t-shirt day grew out of a recurring $5 casual shorts day that will run for the full duration of the fundraising campaign. In Alaska, employees participated in a Krispy Kreme donut sale to add to the fundraising total. And in all our offices, we’re preparing for a silent auction, with items donated by local companies, as well as items donated directly by employees such as personal paintings and other crafts.
This cause is particularly important for us as a company, as we’re raising funds in memory of Brian Merriman, founder of aeSolutions. In the short video below, Ken O’Malley, co-founder of aeSolutions, explains how Brian’s passionate leadership continues to inspire us today.

Each dollar raised gets us closer to living in a world without blood cancers, and we couldn’t do it without the hard work of aeSolutions staff who are participating in our LLS Light the Night events, as well as our friends and family who have contributed to this cause. Thank you to everyone!
