Brian is a registered professional engineer with over 20 years of experience
in optical fiber, chemical, polymer, plastics, liquefied natural gas, pharmaceutical,
pulp and paper, filtration and power generation projects.
He is experienced in department leadership and supervision and project lead engineering
for FEL development, detailed design, construction and commissioning activities.
He has a diverse background in process control system estimating, scope development and
project implementation.., With his in depth knowledge of instrumentation and process
control system philosophy, he can engineer and design a system solution from inception
to operation.
He also has extensive field experience including subcontractor supervision, instrumentation
and control system commissioning, start-up and performance testing.

1998, Brian co-founded AE Solutions. He is currently
serving as the company's President and Operations Manager. Prior to that
he was the Control Systems Department head at Kvaerner
John Brown. He has also worked as a Control Systems
Engineer at CRS Sirrine.

Ken is a registered professional engineer with over 19 years of experience in
DCS and PLC system design, instrumentation and process control design, construction
support and plant commissioning of processes and power facilities in the optical fiber,
microelectronic, chemical, polymer, pulp & paper, liquefied natural gas and filtration
industries. He also has in depth experience in project lead engineering for FEL
development, detailed design and construction/ commissioning activities.

Solutions Ken worked in the Control Systems departments of large industrial engineering and consulting firms.

Mike
is a registered professional control systems engineer with over 18 years experience
in instrumentation and process control design, DCS/PLC design, configuration, construction
support, and plant commissioning of optical fiber, pulp & paper, chemical, liquefied natural
gas, polymer and filtration processes. He is experienced in process controls project lead
engineering, scope/proposal development, estimating, and detailed design. He obtained his
Masters Degree with emphasis on Advanced Chemical Process Control and Process Modeling.

In addition to being a Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE), Mike is a member of the CFSE
Process Safety Advisory Board, which has been formed to ensure that the CFSE Certificate, application
forms and examination reflect the current, state-of-the-art global practice of safety engineering
in the process industries.
Mike is a member of the ISA SP84 committee and is one of six (6) core team members on the ISA SP84
BMS Working Group 3 sub-committee that has developed Technical Report ISA-TR85.00.05 entitled The
Application of ANSI/ISA 84.00.01-2004 for Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) in Burner Management
Systems. The purpose of this document is to clarify the relationship between Burner Management
Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems. Mike is the Working Group 3 liaison with the America Boiler
Manufacturer’s Association (ABMA) and NFPA 86.
Mike is also co-chairman of the SP84 Working Group 6 sub-committee on Fire & Gas Systems. This working
group is in the process of developing a Technical Report document to clarify the relationship between
Fire & Gas Systems and Safety Instrumented Systems.
Mike is an ISA member and is the current Subcommittee Chairman for Burner Management Systems for the
ISA Safety Division. Mike has facilitated numerous panel sessions and presented numerous papers at
ISA events on Safety Instrumented Systems.
Mike also has developed / instructed several ISA courses including:
- Webinars related to Safety Instrumented Burner Management Systems and Safety Instrumented Fire & Gas Systems
- One Day Classes on Safety Instrumented Burner Management Systems, Introduction to Boiler Control Systems and Boiler Burner Management System Meeting NFPA Standards

Instrumented Systems, Mike is a past member of Process Industries Practices (PIP) Safety System Task Team.
